Biography

Sharon DeLay, MBA, SPHR, CPCC, CPRW and author of Career Boot Camp: A Self-Directed Guide Through Career Transition combines career coaching and transition experience with over 10 years in business as a hiring manager and leader of 2 to 250 employees. As Chief Career Confidence Specialist with BoldlyGO Career and Human Resource Management, Sharon works closely with individuals to help them find jobs they’ll love and love the jobs they have. She focuses on practical approaches, including networking skills and interview coaching, as well as the development of a full complement of career marketing strategies. She is known for her honest, straightforward approach to identifying opportunities for her clients so they can more quickly and affordably move through the coaching process. Sharon also works with companies to assist in outplacement services; employee development opportunities, including sales networking, career advancement; and critical career advancement skills such as professional speaking and business communication, and DiSC®, a behavioral assessment tool that helps employees identify and adjust how they interact with one another. In March 2010, Sharon released the book E-Cruiting: Using social networking to build your recruiting muscle, not must your recruiting budget, co-authored with HR specialist Karin Combs. Sharon has an MBA and a B.S. in Human Resource Management from Franklin University, as well as B.S. degrees in Education and Communication. Sharon has recently earned her SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) designation from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Her Certified Professional Résumé Writer and Certified Professional Career Coach certifications were earned from nationally-recognized Professional Association of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches, and she holds membership in Human Resource Association of Central Ohio, Society of Human Resource Management, International Coach Federation, and Central Ohio Coaches. She also sits on the Ohio Department of Development’s Women’s Advisory Roundtable. She is regularly published in JobNews, a weekly job search publication, EZine articles, an online database, CollegeRecruiter.com, and C-Bus Magazine, and has been interviewed for articles in the Atlanta Journal Constitution and The Cleveland Plain Dealer. She has contributed to the books Twitter Job Search Guide and to FabJob’s Guide to Become a Career Coach. She is certified to administer and assess DISC by Inscape Publishing and teaches technical writing at Franklin University and career strategies courses at Hondros College.
